There is a certain charm to used bookstores, and a magic in the books themselves. Pre-loved books have made an incredible journey, some coming to you barely touched, others riddled with studious or passionate margin notes. The serendipitous find of the perfect book companion is an amazing experience. In this B-List, we invite you to browse some of the area’s used bookstores. You never know what you will find!
THE BRANTFORD BOOKWORM
331 Brant Ave., Brantford – Open Tuesday-Saturday
For over 40 years, The Brantford Bookworm has been a locally owned and operated staple in our community. Not only does this store have a wide variety of books, including its very own Family Room selection, but you can find books by local authors as well. If you have some quality books you’re looking to offload, The Brantford Bookworm will purchase your reads for a percentage of the cover price offering store credit in return.
DOG-EARED CAFÉ
121 Grand River St. N., Paris – Open Tuesday-Sunday
Boasting over 5000 titles in various genres, Dog-Eared Café has curated a collection of fine pre-loved books. This artsy café will also purchase your next-to-new books in exchange for a stamp representing a $2 value as part of their Dog-Eared Loyalty Club. The value of the stamps collected can be used toward purchase of books on their shelves. While you’re there, try one of their delightful lattes as well.

They also carry other items such as candles, puzzles and fair-trade coffee and teas. Green Heron Books is a one-stop shop for your literary needs.
